Membership & Organization
Greenville Women Giving is a non-endowed, donor-advised fund of the Community Foundation of Greenville.
Our membership is open to any and all women who share our goals and will commit to donating $1100 per year for three years ($1000/year to the pooled fund for grants, $100/year for administrative costs).
Your yearly $1,000 donation is awarded in its entirety to the local charities selected by our membership.
The Community Foundation agreed to give us $50,000 from the Jean Harris Knight fund, to be applied to the money contributed to community agencies in 2008, provided our membership reached 200 before the end of 2007.
We are happy to report that this goal was surpassed, and that we returned $287,000 to our Community in 2008. This brings the total amount of our collective giving to $472,000 for our first two years.
Great news from GWG: we are at 300 members as of November 2008!
Encourage friends and neighbors to learn more about GWG. Frances, Harriet and Sue are delighted to tell their story to interested groups of women - neighborhood groups, bridge clubs, investment groups, whatever. Just let them know where and when! click here
More members equal more money to contribute to the efforts of local organizations who are doing the "front line" work to address the serious needs in our community!
